The National Behavioral Science Industry Engagement Director will be the face of California Southern University to the Behavioral Science Industry nationally, focused on representing and building awareness and interest in Calsouthern's Behavioral Science programs, and cultivate business to business (B2B) relationships for Calsouthern's Education Alliance Center (EAC).

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Calsouthern's marketing team and Calsouthern's Behavioral Science academic leadership to create and execute a national high-impact strategy to serve Calsouthern's  needs
  • Represent Calsouthern's programs to the Behavioral Science industry nationally by identifying and attending national/regional/state/local Behavioral Science conferences and events to increase Calsouthern's  Behavioral Science brand awareness 
  • Identify, prospect, and qualify new client opportunities with assigned companies in target market, promoting the value of Calsouthern's educational products and solutions for the prospective company and its employees.  Enrollment in programs will be handled by Admissions.
  • Conduct client needs analysis to establish client goals and expectations to form B2B agreements that create meaningful educational benefit solutions for the client
  • Negotiate agreements for services, programs, products, and pricing 
  • Proactively lead client strategic account planning that develops mutual performance objectives and milestones 
  • Create and execute client engagement plans to expand Behavioral Science relationships through targeted employee communication plans
  • Coordinate the involvement of internal and external resources, including support, service, marketing resources, etc. in order to meet the client’s performance objectives and expectations
  • Drive and maintaining high levels of customer service
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and cater to client needs
  • Diligently maintains strategic internal client database, and shares information across internal teams

Education & Experience (Minimum):

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or related discipline from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent)
  • 5 years of experience in business to business (B2B) higher education sales with experience in the Behavioral Science vertical
  • History of acquiring and developing Behavioral Science and Fortune 1000 relationships
  • Formal sales training

Education & Experience (Preferred):

  • MBA from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent)
  • Experience working for a higher education institution in a B2B capacity
  • Salesforce.com experience
  • Experience working with Behavioral Science organizations, associations and Fortune 500 companies on behalf of a college, university, or other educational institution
  • Understanding of university operations including student enrollment, marketing, and recruiting 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies

  • Prior experience working in the Behavioral Science industry vertical with expertise in navigating the industry eco system, including key industry conferences
  • Excellent prospecting skills with ability to achieve agreement and marketing goals
  • Works well in results-oriented environment and thrives on accountability
  • Strong personal presence, with excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Skilled networker, confident with “C” suite conversations
  • Advanced client relationship building skills, including excellent listening skills to uncover and understand client needs
  • Excellent presentations skills (large and small groups)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and drive to expected results
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including travel up to 75%
