Academic Oversight Activities
- Oversee specific areas of the College as determined by the Dean.
- Facilitate ongoing development and mentoring of full-time and adjunct faculty mentors.
- Analyze faculty mentor and student metrics (including feedback) and respond accordingly.
- Promote and undertake a variety of student persistence/retention measures.
- Manage full-time and adjunct faculty mentors and staff in areas of doctoral teaching, curriculum work, and/or Doctoral Project work, including hiring/selection, assigning courses, supervision, and evaluation.
- Establish, implement, and supervise Doctoral Project-related operations.
- Maintain an adequate and appropriately credentialed pool of faculty mentors.
- Assign, manage, and train Doctoral Project chairs and committee members.
- Ensure quality Doctoral Projects at set milestones.
- Track candidate progression through the Doctoral Project processes.
- Review and resolve conflicts between faculty mentors and students when necessary.
- Address student complaints/appeals and conduct concerns as per university policy
- Foster an environment of continuous learning and scholarship.
Curriculum and Assessment Activities
- Provide feedback for curriculum and course enhancement.
- Enhance and maintain existing courses.
- Manage the development of new courses as requested.
- Develop academic materials and assessments.
- Develop new academic concentrations or programs when requested by the Dean.
- Oversee and participate in program reviews and annual reporting.
Service
- Serve on academic governance committees as a voting member, including as a chair.
- Participate on System, University, College, and Program cross-functional teams and committees.
- Contribute to continuous learning and improvement activities.
- Attend Program, College and University meetings, Commencement, and other university events.
Scholarly and Professional Activities
- Maintain professional credentials
- Guide student research and scholarly activities.
- Engage in regular and consistent professional activities such as but not limited to:
- Publishing scholarly work in peer reviewed journals or conference proceedings.
- Serving as a peer reviewer for professional journal articles, grants, or conference papers.
- Authoring books, book chapters, or other intellectual contributions.
- Presenting at national or regional professional conferences.
- Conducting clinical or action research studies.
- Serving on committees or as an officer for professional associations.
- Attending professional meetings, workshops and seminars.
- Engaging in continuing education activities.
Other Duties as Assigned or Requested:
- Support for other program, college, or university initiatives as assigned.
- Teaching and/or Doctoral Project work as assigned
Education & Experience (Minimum):
- Terminal degree in Clinical OR Counseling Psychology
- Licensure as a Licensed Psychologist (LP)
- Experience working in higher education administration
- Experience teaching in an online learning management system
- Faculty management experience
Education & Experience (Preferred):
- Significant experience as a practitioner in work related to Clinical/Counseling Psychology
- Higher education leadership experience
- Experience managing faculty in an online environment
