Education & Experience (Minimum)
- Terminal Degree (18 doctoral-level credit hours in research required)
- Experience teaching in a higher education setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of current trends in the discipline
Education & Experience (Preferred)
- Significant experience as a practitioner in work related to your academic discipline
- Experience teaching working adults
- Experience teaching in an online learning management system
- Certifications, awards, or other indicators of teaching excellence
- Record of scholarly activities
- To teach at the undergraduate level, a strong combination of education and experience in a relevant discipline may be considered for hard-to-fill content areas
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
- Ability to inspire and engage students by delivering quality instruction and support
- Ability to establish academic rigor in coursework and fairness in grading
- Ability to provide constructive and substantive feedback on student work
- Demonstrated ability to engage with students in a virtual environment
- Understanding and adherence to academic policies and procedures
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to create and sustain a collegial, collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to formulate feasible and logical solutions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products with ability to quickly learn new technologies and software
