National Admissions Consultant - Trident

The National Admissions Consultant confers with and advises prospective students in connection with their decision to pursue post-secondary education. The National Admissions Consultant focuses on delivering the highest levels of support and service for students throughout their first session. They are also expected to provide process-improvement recommendations in support of continuous enhancement of the student experience at the institution. National Admissions Consultants work to ensure all prospective students have a clear understanding of the University’s philosophy and programs, while offering encouragement in a highly ethical and compliant manner. National Admissions Consultants are held to qualitative and quantitative goals and objectives. Admissions is typically the first point of contact with our students, and thus, National Admissions Consultants are depended upon to display the utmost professionalism in all student interactions.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing, managing and meeting action plans in order to obtain personal and departmental student population objectives.
- Evaluate monthly activity against standards and personal goals.
- Professionally assists prospective students through the admissions process in accordance with all applicable federal and state regulations, school policies and procedures, and in compliance with all accrediting standards and requirements.
- Consult with prospective students via telephone interviews and/or e-mail correspondence to discuss their educational goals and needs while at the same time identifying and addressing any concerns.
- Enhanced focus on providing high levels of student service and inquiry responsiveness by way of additional time on queue.
- Develop a rapport with prospective students and maintain contact with them frequently.
- Partners with departments outside of Admissions to assist and advocate for students in all aspects of their educational journey, including in the areas of Financial Aid, Student Advising, and Academics, to ensure the delivery of a high level of service to every student.
- Support enrolled students with document submission to ensure they are prepared to begin coursework in a timely manner.
- Providing guidance through the orientation process to ensure student understanding and adoption of the virtual/in person campus.
- Encourage and guide students to utilize the virtual classroom preparatory course.
- Explain the benefits of the institution’s Ready course, encourage its use by students, and track acceptance rate of use.
- Collaborate with lead faculty to help ensure students feel comfortable in submitting work during their first session.
- Providing feedback to leaders on recommended improvements in student experience from enrollment process through completion of the first course.
- Consistently operates within, and is measured with respect to, the school’s expected behaviors: Execution, Communication/Feedback and Professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with applicable University policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies
- Basic computer skills – experience with Microsoft (WORD, Excel, Outlook) preferred
- Possesses excellent verbal communication skills, particularly telephonic – and excellent written communication skills
- Persistence combined with a positive attitude and approach to work and others – self-motivating work style
- Positive and collaborative interpersonal skills; willing to coach others
- Aptitude to quickly and effectively understand and utilize all applicable school systems, databases and tools.
Education and Experience: Minimum
- High School Diploma or its equivalent required
- 5+ Years of experience in sales and/or customer service
- 2+ Years of experience in Post-Secondary Higher Education Admissions
