General Summary

The Faculty Support Specialist works closely with Academic Leadership and Human Resources. This position supports faculty acquisition, hiring, onboarding, documentation for regulatory purposes, and technology needs that relate to teaching and curriculum.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide support to academic leadership and HR in all matters that relate to the acquisition, hiring, onboarding, and training of faculty
  • Meet the record-keeping needs of Academic Affairs leaders and Human Resources
  • Maintain and track documentation that pertains to teaching, curriculum, and regulatory needs
  • Collaborate with IT in matters that impact faculty, technology, and curriculum
  • Provide support to Academic Leadership to resolve matters that pertain to faculty
  • Develop faculty resources and documentation
  • Act as a resource for new and existing faculty
  • Maintain Faculty Files and Faculty Handbook
  • General support for faculty operations and instructional processes

Education and Experience: Minimum

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Communication, Business, or a related field
  • Experience working in Higher Education

Education and Experience: Preferred

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience in working with Academic Leadership, faculty, IT and/or Human Resources
  • Experience in learning management systems

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies

  • Outstanding oral, written, and digital communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and multi-task
  • Ability to act in a professional and collegial manner in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interpret Academic and HR process requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and a Learning Management System with ability to quickly learn new education technologies and software
  • Outstanding technology skills and knowledge
