Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies

 

  • Knowledge of online delivery methods and effective communication in both traditional and online educational forums is essential.

  • Knowledge of the student life cycle and other university departments such as Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Services, Academics, and Career Services

  • Profound commitment to quality service and a desire to ensure student success

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient in use of MS Word, MS Excel and ability to analyze data

  • Organizational and time management skills

  • Leadership skills in directing and motivating teams

  • Knowledge of online student services that impact retention

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, people, and execute on department direction and vision

 

 

Education and Experience:  Minimum

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent) required

  • 5 + years of experience in an education related role

  • 4 + year of management experience

 

Education and Experience:  Preferred

 

  • Master’s Preferred from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent)

  • 5 + years of experience with leading student advising in a post-secondary education environment.

  • 3 + years of experience leading managers
