Required Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with proficiency in meeting deadlines and urgency in responding to questions/requests.
- Strong interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills.
- Proficiency in working effectively, cooperatively, and flexibly in a team environment.
- Proficiency with standard office and mobile applications (i.e., word processing, presentations, e-mail, calendaring, teleconferencing, text messaging, personal computers, and smart phones/tablets).
Required Experience
- Significant online teaching experience preferred.
- Minimum and preferred (if different) from an institution regionally accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent), additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply.
- Minimum Requirements: Master's Degree in Career Management/Counseling, Human Resources, Psychology, or subfield; if degree is in subfield or out of field, then 5+ years' recent experience is required in human resources or management (with knowledge related to interviewing, hiring, onboarding, professional development, etc.) and must have a strong professional social media presence (i.e. , LinkedIn).
- Preferred degree, licensure, certification, or other experience: Doctorate Degree in Career Management/Counseling, Human Resources, Psychology, or subfield; 3+ years’ documented experience teaching adult, non-traditional, and Active Duty Military/Veteran student learners in a higher education setting; 5+ years' experience with career management, planning, networking, and digital identity.
- One or more of the following is preferred):
- Career Counselor/Coach/Advisor for an institute of higher learning, corporation, nonprofit organization, grant funded or work development program or Human Resources field such as recruiting, talent procurement, or staffing consultant.
- Taught Career Services course at the college level or as continuing education within the last 5 years.
- Management role with significant experience in reviewing job search collateral, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, providing employee’s career coaching and professional development.
- Adaptable skills to inform student goals of post military transition, career changes, and career development through instruction of effective employment research and career management.
- Knowledge of Career Planning principles, theory and practice including social media and effective employment keyword searches.
- Career Counseling/Advising certification (CDF, GCDF, etc .) or Human Resource Certification (PHR or SPHR, etc.)
*CTU generally compensates its Adjunct Faculty on a per quarter credit hour rate that takes into consideration a variety of factors, including campus (online and campus), degree level (undergraduate and graduate), and faculty rank (Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor); the base rate for an Adjunct Faculty can range between $331.50 and $603.64 per credit hour.
