Job Specifications:
Education, Knowledge, and Expertise:
  1. BA/BS from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent) in BIT, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related field of study.
  2. Cisco CCNA (active) required, CCNP and other network or other applicable certifications preferred.
  3. Microsoft Office, including Visio and Project experience preferred.
  4. Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate project level presentations to business sponsors.
  6. Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to resolve complex problems
  7. Ability to work independently or within a team; in other words, proven ability to be both, a self-starter as well as a team player.
  8. Ability to operate with substantial latitude; review progress with management.
 
 
Experience Required:
  1. 2+ years with WAN, LAN, Internet, and WLAN technologies
  2. 2+ years with route/switch – BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VRF, EVN, Spanning Tree, Multicast, QoS, IPSec
  3. 2+ years with Catalyst 65xx switches and modules
  4. 2+ years in data center infrastructure – Unified I/O, FCoE, environmental controls.
  5. Layer 2 Extension – MPLS Tagging, Ethernet over MPLS, Nexus OTV
  6. Experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, ASA
  7. Experience planning and coordinating projects and new site/service installations.
  8. Intermediate problem resolution knowledge of hardware/software platform problems in complex, layered, network infrastructure
  9. Intermediate knowledge of network systems design principles and standards
  10. Intermediate knowledge of packet capture and analysis
     
Experience Desired:
  1. Aruba Wireless
  2. Cisco Nexus line – 2k, 5k, 7k, 9k
  3. F5 / BIGIP or Load Balancing products/practices
  4. Net Flow monitoring
  5. Solarwinds monitoring
  6. Security products/practices – ACLs, Firewalls, VPN, etc.
  7. Experience working in a large enterprise environment (500+ endpoints).
  8. ITIL and Enterprise Change Management
  9. Strong technical project management background.
